Duck!

This is the last of my Stamposaurus samples for a few days using another of the soon to be relaunched stamps. After I coloured it with Copics I wasn't sure what to use with it. I found a few of my older products and it came together really quickly. I used a Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder and a Spellbinder curved border die. The heart circle is a Spellbinder die and I used one of my favourite dies with it, Lawn Fawn stitched circle. The bunting flags I found when having a sort of diecuts recently and the duck is part of a Frantic stamper baby icon die set. It was good to use some of my older dies and embossing folder for a change.

Check out my candy page.

Get well soon Ellie

I have another of my samples for Stamposaurus to share with you today and if you like this stamp there is a chance to win one in my post above. This stamp is of course suitable for so many occasions but I chose to make a get well soon card using a Stamposaurus sentiment. I made a CAS card for a change. Coloured with Copics of course, the paper is MME Happy Days (I love this pad and am using the last few pages now). I added 3 diecut butterflies using a Memory Box die and kraft card and made myself step away from the card before I added more 😉.

On the high seas

I am working on some samples for Stamposaurus using the soon to be relaunched stamps, back by popular demand. I coloured the cute pirate with Copics and used some Papermania ahoy there papers along with some lovely nautical ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. I just had a sort of of various packs of diecuts and remembered seeing a compass in a K&Co pack which was just what I needed. The anchor and sailor's knot are Joy dies and have been used many times. I also used a Lawn Fawn stitched circle die and some card candi.

Baby hedgie

This is one of two baby girl cards made for Papercraft Inspirations magazine and features one of my favourite stamps from Penny Black coloured with Copics. The paper is Anna Marie blissful pink, flowers from Wild Orchid. I used MFT wonky stitched oval, Memory Box precious hearts, Memory Box baby banner and a Joanna Sheen Britannia leaf die. The sentiment is from a very useful set from Stamposaurus. Talking of which have you entered my Stamposaurus candy yet?

Mother's Day

Since my Mum has had her iPad she looks at my blog everyday so I couldn't post her Mother's Day card on here until today. This is such a fun Spring image and is one of the new LOTV digi simply print precoloured sheets with MME Happy Days papers, some lovely lace from Crafty Ribbons and cherry blossom from Wild Orchid. I used MFT pierced rectangle and jumbo ricrac dies.

Wicker bunting

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MUMS.

This week I have several different things to share with you rather than cards. These are two sets of bunting I made to sell. They look really pretty and if they sell then I will definitely be making some more.

The wicker hearts are from a set of lights I bought for my stall a couple of years ago to use at Christmas. I then had them at home inside a square glass vase and they looked lovely. Recently though the lights started to flicker so I was going to throw them away. Of course being a crafter I then thought maybe I can recycle them so I pulled out the lights, cut off the cable and tied them to ribbon and added flowers from Wild Orchid.

We will be collecting my Mum this morning, coming back to ours for coffee and then taking her for a nice lunch before taking her home.

Life is good

Another of the layouts I completed last Friday. This one is of us at Clearwater and Coca Beach in Florida. The papers and embellishments are from a Grace Taylor kit. The lovely corner die is Memory Box and I found the postcard is my pile of things to use in scrapbooks and the colours matched perfectly.

Power dressing

This is one of a new range launching on 3rd April from Lili of the Valley. They will initially be digi stamps and simply prints which of course are precoloured. The range is Decades and covers the 50's to 80's. This is power dressing, remember those padded shoulders! The sentiment is from LOTV and the papers are MME Happy Days. I used a MFT pierced rectangle die and added some doodling. The cherries are from a Whimsy fruit trio die set. You can just about see a little sparkle on them from a clear Wink of Stella pen.

Mini pictures

I am always looking for new ideas for gifts to make for my craft stall and I recently spotted some little pictures in a magazine using wooden frames. I knew I had some Santoro ones in my drawer of things I rarely use so I made some simple pictures. These two feature my favourite Gorjuss girls and the two below use the smallest of the new LOTV simply print precoloured digis.

Giant bugs

I had a lovely day last Friday when Lynsey came for a scrapbooking day and I made 2 pocket pages and 3 layouts. I love making them but hate trying to take a decent photo of them. They always look far better in real life. I used a sketch from a Facebook challenge and some lovely papers I won a little while ago from The Craft Consortium on Facebook. The gardens are in Florida and they had various huge insects made from metal around the garden. The butterfly die is a Doohickey one and I found the large diecut spider amongst my stash. I bought a set of webs and spiders to make a Halloween card so that was a useful find.

Button heart

I have another of the cards I made for Making Cards using butons as the main focus. I used a heart die which I placed on the card and then laid a selection of buttons from Crafty Ribbons inside the die. Sticking them down in shape was the trickiest and my first attempt where I used my normal 3d glue went in the bin as I was getting glue showing. I remembered I have some glue dots which I haven't used for ages and they worked perfectly, much less messy. I added some doodling and a LOTV sentiment.

Elephant tags

For my guest designer post for My Mum's Craft Shop I decided to make some cute tags using MFT adorable elephant stamp and die set and Pebbles tealightful papers. I coloured the images with Copics and added clear Wink of Stella to the butterflies and a little bow to the kite. The tag die is a Spellbinders one I believe. The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.

Candy winner

Thanks to everyone who entered my little candy. Unfortunately some people left me a comment but didn't enter their name into the link. I did put a reminder on a post the other day. So out of the people who did enter via the link here is the winner as chosen randomly.

13 was lucky for the winner. Is it you? Hop over to the blog candy page to check and if it is you please email me with your address so I can post your dies out to you.

Please see below for today's card, which coincidentally features candi. 😃

Card Candi

When I went to the Peterborough craft show last November I did a make and take with a Woodware Christmas tree stamp with added card candi and gems. I have always liked these stamps so I bought this one which means some of my box of card candi will get used more quickly.  I coloured the leaves with Copics and added various plain and patterned card candi to the stamp. The flowers are some of the last few pieces of First Edition Floral Pavilion and I used an EK Success flower punch, MFT pireced banner die and a sentiment from LOTV.  I used a sketch from a Facebook challenge and as I love using banners can see me using this again.

Out of this world

Our challenge this fortnight at A Gem of a Challenge is one of my favourites, Boy's Birthday. I teamed the precoloured  digi Spaceman Josh with the lovely MME Lime Zest papers. I used a Lawn Fawn stitched circle die and added some star buttons.  I used a clear Wink of Stella pen on the paper around the stars for a little sparkle. The fabulous ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.

I am looking forward to Lynsey coming over for the day today. A good chance to catch up on all the chat and spend the day scrapbooking.

Easter cards for Papercrafter

I was commissioned to make three cards and two papercrafted items using the free Easter papers in the latest issue of Papercrafter magazine. These are the three cards I made. I used MFT pierced banner dies, Joy flower dies and some lovely Easter ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

I used an Xcut large oval die to create an egg shaped card and decoupaged some of the pictures on the paper and added some spotted ribbon.

MFT scalloped border dies and large flower buttons from Crafty Ribbons along with some twine were all I needed to use with the papers for this one. The cute sentiment tag was cut with a tag die from the paper.

Heading Home

I am here again with a second guest designer card for My Mum’s Craft Shop using lots of Lawn Fawn and MFT products. Now these may not all be in stock but just email Kitty and she will get them for you if she can. I just bought the cute little trees from her and used them along with some dies I bought at the MFT shop in America and a new stamp and die set.

I paper pieced the stamps and dies from the Lawn Fawn Home for the Holidays set and coloured the presents with Copics. The papers are Lawn Fawn Winter Plaid, another pad I like so much I bought a second one as they work all year round. The sentiment is from the stamp set. The stitched mountain range, Winter trees and basic stitch line dies are all MFT. I love the way the stitched lines work so well on the road. The little star dies were a Christmas present from Lynsey and came from The Range.

Two for Tea

I had a sort out of a lot of my papers last week and went through each paper pad removing any I thought I would never use and some which I have had for so long I am fed up with them. The trouble with some pads like First Edition is that they have so many pages with several of each design. I prefer smaller pads, preferably double sided so I can use them all quicker. My paper drwaers are now so much tidier and I am striving to use all the odd pieces like this beautiful paper. It was perfect to match the LOTV simply print image. I added some lilac flowers from Hobbycraft and pink vellum flowers from America. I used my favourite MS fern punch, lilac ribbon and crispy lace. The sentiment is from the Pebbles Tealightful set I used last week from MMCS.

Guest Designer

Pink Gem are sponsoring

and the Pink Gem DT were invited to be guest designers for their challenge "For a Child". I used a precoloured digi of Andy with frog. The papers are one of my fave pads, MME Lime Zest, I like it so much I recently bought another pad. I love double sided papers and MME are all usable papers, there aren't any I dislike,  I added a Craftwork Cards sentiment which doesn't show up very well as it is shiny. I love the way the layout turned out using a Lawn Fawn stitched circle die.The baseball hat button I bought a long time ago and was just what I needed to finish it off with baker's twine.

Rock on

Yesterday was my hubby's Birthday and this is the card I made him. I do like making 7" square cards as it gives a lot of scope. The jukebox, guitar and sentiments are part of a large set I bought from Stamposaurus at Doncaster. They aren't their own make stamps, I think they were probably originally came with a magazine,  They have been coloured with Copics. The record is a Barnes and Noble gift card with the sentiment covering the store name. I used a MFT stitched fishtail banner dies for the sentiments and a new MFT set of music dies. The spotted paper is LOTV and the denim paper is We R Memory Keepers.

We went to Nottingham yesterday and saw a Cirque du Soleil show, whoch was amazing, staying overnight and travelling back this morning. This is the third show of theirs we have seen. They are all so different, so clever and colourful with the most incredible performers.

Patterned diecuts

I bought some patterned felt in America and some fat quarters from Crafter's Companion so that I could make some different felt hearts. I was so pleased to find that my flower dies which were a magazine freebie cut nicely through the flowery material. The glitter felt is a much harder material than the other felt and was therefore not as easy to sew but the finished result looks pretty.

Little gift bags

Today I am combining my inspiration post for the March Facebook challenge at LOTV of flowers and my inspiration post for Crafty Ribbons. I bought these dinky bags in America and the sweet little images are the smallest of the digi printed images from LOTV. There are 8 on a sheet and they are just the perfect size for these bags. I diecut them with a Lawn Fawn stitched circle die. The papers are Anna Marie blissful pink and the lovely delicate lace and spotted ribbon are from Crafty Ribbons.

In the meantime I made a few cards with the stamps and this is the first of them.

Exciting news

My first piece of news is that I am delighted to be sharing my first card as a guest designer for My Mum’s Craft Shop.  I really love the Pebbles Tealightful papers and chipboard diecuts which are new in the shop so I used them for my first GDT card. The square doily is from Ebay and goes perfectly with the teatime theme. I added some baker's twine, flowers and a teapot charm.

My second piece of exciting news is that I had a lovely email from an editor of a leading papercrafting magazine inviting me to join their Design Team. I love making cards for magazines so I was thrilled to receive this news. Watch this space for my first commission for them in June.

Rainbow pegs

As I am at the hospital shop next Friday I have been busy making some gifts for my stall. These packs of magnetic pegs are very popular as they make a nice little gift. I have made several of these using washi tape on the pegs and then adding wooden embellishments and magnetic tape to the back of them. The card was cut with a MS border die and once inside cello bags they are all ready for sale. I found these coloured pegs in Michaels which I must confess where quicker to make up than using washi tape.

Over the rainbow

I had some lovely comments left on my button balloon card last Sunday so today I am showing the second of the button cards I made for Making Cards magazine. I had to check the colour order before I started and after sorting through my buttons decided to use some plain and some spotted buttons. I do love spots and stripes whether on buttons, ribbon, paper, home furnishings or clothes. I also love checks particularly for home furnishings.

Anyway onto my card which is quite simple. I used DCWV gauze paper and a Memory Box cloud die and added some doodling and a LOTV sentiment.

We are meeting my Mum in Norwich today as she wants to get a newer iPhone. She has my previous iPhone 4 which won't transfer her photos from her phone to her iPad as the software is no longer updated to enable that and transferring them using the transfer app is a bit of a pain. The weather isn't supposed to be good unfortunately but we shall enjoy seeing her and having lunch in the City.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and we have a fun one for you this time. It is to use at least 3 things beginning with B. I have used blue, Birthday, bunny, burlap, butterflies, brads and blooms phew! I used one of the coloured digi kits and added a sentiment from the kit. The paper is Crafter's Companion and I used some net and blue burlap, paper flowers, pearl brads and crochet butterflies from The Works.

The Gardener

I have the second of my vintage boy cards I made for Making Cards magazine. They are such cute images aren't they. Coloured with Copics of course. I really went to town with the distressing on this one adding some of my favourite crimped kraft card. I bought my crimper from The Works years ago, think it was £1 and it has been so useful. The papers are Papermania Mr Mister. I love using striped in this way. I found a cute little snail charm and tied it with string to keep the rustic look. the sentiment is also from LOTV.
